After many failed attempts we have finally done it. We have a facebook page! <a href=”http://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Suicide-Dream/103334699724596” target=”blank”>Click here to open it in a new window and while your there, “like” us (so we can get famous and a smaller url.. u need 25 likes before we can get one) also, be sure to check out our “boxes” tab. We have uploaded the newest versions of our music there for everyone to hear!
Was that just bold?
Yes, indeed it was.
That means it was something of importance.
Moving on.
Many of you have messaged us saying things like “I hope you guys get famous” or “you guys deserve more exposure/fans/drugs/to be famous” and although we are trying, we could use your help. If you belong to any of the following social networks, add us and tell all of your friends on those nets to check us out and add us! It only takes a moment and you’d be helping us a great deal.
<a href=”http://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Suicide-Dream/103334699724596” target=”blank”>Facebook
<a href=”http://www.myspace.com/mysuicidedream” target=”blank”>MySpace
<a href=”http://vampirefreaks.com/MySuicideDream target=”blank”>VampireFreaks
<a href=”http://www.last.fm/music/My+Suicide+Dream” target=”blank”>LastFM
<a href=”http://www.ilike.com/artist/My+Suicide+Dream” target=”blank”>iLike
<a href=”https://twitter.com/MySuicideDream” target=”blank”>Twitter
<a href=”http://www.purevolume.com/mysuicidedream” target=”blank”>PureVolume

If you don’t have a profile on any of them feel free to make one, I recommend lastfm if your looking to find new music to listen to. Its perfect.
As far as our E.P is concerned, recording has been going very well. Im starting to get very excited listening to all of the tracks together. I really think its going to be awesome.
While we’re busy recording, we’d like to start making new merch. We started a discussion on facebook <a href=”http://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Suicide-Dream/103334699724596?v=app_2373072738&ref=sgm#!/topic.php?uid=103334699724596&topic=5” target=”blank”>click here to get everyones input on what you’d like to see us have. So check it out and feel free to add your 2 cents.
Im feeling a little stressed. Things are going well, but damn. I need a vacation.
On an unrelated note, I just watched the movie “Religulous” a few nights ago and thought it was funny as hell. If you haven’t seen it I strongly recommend you watch it. Even if your an extremely religious person, you above all others should watch the entire thing. There are many facts in the movie that may open your eyes. That is unless your afraid of a little movie… or just too brainwashed to have an even slightly open mind. For those of you who don’t believe in “God”, there is an important message at the end of the movie.
Thats it for now. If you’d like to stay up to date on whats going on with us, follow us on Twitter. Or email admin@mysuicidedream.com with your email address to join our mailing list!

Since I last blogged, thankfully, there has been much progress. Our new music studio is finally done! As it turns out it was a bad decision of mine to start working on music before I even finished building everything. Its kinda hard to concentrate when your surrounded by tools, you keep tripping on wires, and the floor is covered with nails and sawdust. So I spent nearly all of two weekends sweating and bleeding and getting aggravated just to get that shit done and over with! And fuck yes I am really happy to be done with it. Don’t get me wrong, I like building and creating things, but fiberglass insulation is evil. Makes you itchy as hell …and nails go through feet easily. Not that that happened to me, I’m just saying.

I’ve seen it happen.

Once.
Maybe twice, but that’s besides the point.

(Point) —> Now that our studio is complete we can focus on our upcoming E.P., “Drown Out” which we plan on releasing no later than October 31st this fall. That should give us plenty of time to rerecord the vocal tracks, make some changes, and mix/master everything. Maybe even squeeze in a photo shoot. The only problem I can imagine with a Halloween release date is the actual production of the cd itself. I looked into it a bit already and some producers have guaranteed a quick turn around, but you never know. It would be a shame if we didn’t make it in time though, I always wanted to have a release on Halloween.

Also, we are now on VampireFreaks digital music store! Check it out:

http://music.vampirefreaks.com/download/browse.php?store=MySuicideDream

Plus, we’re now taking pre-sign ups for our mailing list, so if your interested email us at: admin@mysuicidedream.com
with your name and email address if you’d like to get updates and free stuff from us! At the moment there is no sign up form, we’re still testing things out;)

That’s it for now. I have a feeling things will start to progress very quickly from now on.

Its been a long time, once again, since we’ve updated everyone on our progress. Just recently we’ve moved even closer to Philadelphia, into a nicely sized house near the Deleware River. Unfortunatly since we’ve moved we have to build ourselves a new music studio… again. Most of our equipment is already hooked up, but we still have a wall to build and sound-proofing to be done. Should only be another week or so until that’s done, but in the meantime Ill be working on mixing and mastering some of our new tracks from our upcoming E.P.

Speaking of our E.P., I’m not sure if we already mentioned it, but we are planning on rerecording all the vocal tracks. I’m just not happy with the way they turned out and want to try something new. With the new studio being even bigger this time round we are going to build a larger vocal booth. I’m hoping with the added room Ill have more space to go crazy while screaming my head off, resulting in better vocal tracks. That’s science kids :) trust me I’ve done the math.

As far as merch goes, we’re planning on printing up some new shirts with a new design soon. We’ve already printed a few test ones, and they look pretty killer. We’re also going to bring back our mail order form for those of you who don’t have a credit card or paypal account. Granted its a little slower, but at least you’ll be able to get our merch without harassing close relatives;)

We’re also going to be starting a mailing list and street team very soon. With both you’ll be able to get updates and free MSD stuff! So keep it in mind if you want to help support MSD.

There’s a lot going on right now, more than I’m even sharing with you (secrets!?) Gotta save some surprises. I’m thinking of this as somewhat of a new beginning for MSD. Instead of turning a new leaf we’re uprooting the whole fucking tree!

Merch.
So we are now in the stages of designing and producing our first black t-shirt. Many of you have been asking us about our Merch or should I say, lack there of. And your all correct in reminding us how sad it is that after nearly 4 years of being a band all we have is one white t-shirt.

Since I started this band, I’ve been reluctant to pay a company tons of money to produce merch for us. They charge way too much and I would have to sell t-shirts for nearly $20! I know that’s what all bands do and that you as a fan are used to it and willing to pay, but I didn’t want any part of it. Anarchy! I didn’t want to over charge my fans. That’s why our debut cd, “The Verge of Suicide” is cheaply printed and is selling for only $9.99. I printed it cheaply to pass the savings on to all our fans. The same goes for the white t-shirt we have for so cheap.

All that is well and good, but its only hurting all of us. So I’ve decided to change and change is better than good. This new black t-shirt won’t be cheap for either of us, but it will be a step in the right direction.

I love music, and I love creating it. It is my passion and I want to do it for the rest of my life. If that means I must sell t-shirts then fine, t-shirts will be made. I’m not looking for wealth, I just am hopeful that someday soon music will be my one and only “job”. And if you enjoy MSD and want more from us, just think; the more you support us by buying our Merch and the more you spread the word of our awesomeness. The more likely it is that we will be able to call music our one and only “job”. I could only imagine how much we could record if we had that time. It would be amazing.

If anyone has any ideas as far as Merch they would like to see us have, please message us and let us know.

And, ladies, a question for all of you. What style of shirt do you like the most? Baby doll? Spagetti strap? Some other style I’m not yet aware? Message us and let us know!

For some reason we are not getting all of your merch orders from PayPal. So far it has only been 3 orders we did not receive an email notification for, but even that is unacceptable. We are not sure if the problem lies with PayPal, our web host, or the prog we use to get our emails. Whatever it may be, we have a simple solution.
How about we just check our PayPal account on a daily bassis?
You like that?
I though of it all by myself.
Because thats how awesome I am.

Also, we have decided to no longer offer an option for “Priority” shipping on orders placed within the United States. As it turns out its kind of a rip off. You pay twice as much and you get your package in the same ammount of time.
Thats no good.
So if you order something within the next few days DO NOT select the “Priority Shipping” option if you live in the U.S. If you do, we’ll ship it “Express”, keep the extra money, and blow it all on useless junk and or drugs and alcohol.
And you dont want to spend your hard earned dollars on that…do you?

Its been quite a long time since we’ve posted some news. Lately the band has just gotten back into the swing of things in the studio. In all honesty, up until a few days ago we haven’t been recording much, just screwing around as per usual. We are very nearly done a new song though and we will post it and make it available in mp3 format as soon as we finish the rough mix. Its sounding awesome and I can’t wait till everyone hears it. After we post this new song, we will only have one more to record before we are done the E.P. I can’t wait for it to be done so we can start playing some shows again. Depending on how things go, we are even planning on making a music video. Its something we’ve wanted to do since the last album and now its really seeming like a possibility.

Also, you can now find MSD on ilike.com and facebook! The urls to our pages are at the bottom of this blog post. Please be sure to add us and “like” us and whatever the fuck else you can do to help promote MSD! We need all the help we can get to let people known that MSD even exists, so help us out! If anyone can think of other ways in which we can promote please let us know, were all ears.

Lastly, thank you to everyone that’s purchased our mp3’s, cheap ass t-shirts, and cd’s lately! Thanks to all of you we are only a fraction of a smidge short of having enough money to produce the E.P. So Thank you and keep the orders comin!

Originally we were planning on waiting until all of our new songs were complete and our new cd was produced and ready for sale before we released anything to the public. Well… we changed our minds. Its already July and it seems like that would take way too long. So our new plan is to release our new songs as they are completed. Its still going to be a little while before we release the first of the five new songs from our upcoming E.P., but at least you’ll have some new MSD music soon!

MP3’s of the new songs will be available for purchase as they are released. The mp3’s will sell for $1.49 each and we will be using ALL of the profits from these mp3’s to produce the new E.P. So if you dig the new tunes, feel free to purchase an MP3 and help us out. We will let everyone know when to expect the first of the new songs to be posted.

Also, we would like to thank everyone that has been purchasing our album “The Verge of Suicide” in cd and digital download formats. We thank you for the support!

Many changes have recently taken place that will greatly affect the band. First of all, we are no longer signed to Syndustry Records. In fact, the label itself has ceased to be. Although we are all sad to see it go, this could ultimately could be a good thing for MSD. Now that we are without a label, we have the opportunity to be picked up by yet another label. Maybe even a major label… who knows. We want to assure everyone that even though we are no longer signed, it will not affect the sale of our album, “The Verge of Suicide”. We will have to print new CD’s, however we do plan on selling the remaining few copies that bear the Syndustry Logo.

Also, my best friend, known to all as Xm8, will no longer be a part of MSD. We wish him all the best with his new found design company. He was a part of MSD since the very beginning and we greatly appreciate all the hard work he contributed into making the band what it is today. He will be missed.

Lastly, we would like to introduce Travis Daniel Cochran as the newest member of the band! He has been a good friend and supporter of the band for a long time and we’re very glad to have him be a part of it. I know it seems as though he is Xm8’s replacement, but we want to make it clear that that is not the case. We had asked Travis to join a long time before Xm8 had left the band. We just haven’t made it public till now. We may even add another member… or not… we’ll see.

At the moment, we are planning a photo-shoot to show off the new MSD. We’ll let everyone know when the new pics are up. In the studio, things are going very well. The E.P. is coming together nicely. We have cut a song that didn’t fit well, which has slowed us down a bit, but we expect it to be ready for release early July. We may even post a sneak peek as early as next month. Thanks to everyone for the support!

Last weekend was supposed to be a treat for me. You see, Sugar had decided to ditch MSD in the studio, in favor of a week long holiday in Las Vegas. I was to pick her up from the airport last Saturday night and since I missed her very much while she was gone, and was very much looking forward, with great anticipation, to picking her up, I needed to kill some time during the day.
I decided to go for a nice long ride on my motorcycle. What better way to kill time on such a nice spring day then to ride the open highway, right? Well I was wrong. They say there are two kinds of motorcyclists, those that have been in accidents and those that will… they are correct.

As I was going around a curve, leaning the bike a little more than I should have, I hit a strange bump in the road which threw me and the bike to the ground. As the title states, pavement is very much like sandpaper. I snapped the foot peg off of my motorcycle and tore a bit of flesh from my elbow and knee as I slid across the road. Luckily that was the extent of my accident. I was able to ride the bike home, every now and then getting strange looks from fellow motorists who pulled up next to me at traffic lights, looked over, and saw me with blood running down my arm.

Since then, the wounds have healed, the swelling has gone down, my bike has a new pair of Harley Davidson foot pegs, and best of all, Sugar is back! So its time to get back to recording the E.P. Lets just hope there are no more unexpected (and painful) delays.
